Knowledge and Information Management

ANZPAA builds on a repository of knowledge to support jurisdictions and inform the delivery of our Work Program.

In 2010-2011:

  • Develop a Communications Strategy to engender greater awareness and involvement with our stakeholders and partners.
  • Continue to develop partnerships with academia and research agencies to facilitate the sharing of policing research for the Australia New Zealand Policing Information Resource Exchange (ANZPIRe) knowledge management portal.
  • Implement phase two of the extranet (on the ANZPAA website) and intranet project which will provide a secure interactive information portal for police and related stakeholders.

Ongoing activities:

  • Provide Secretariat support and host ANZPAA Board, forums, committees and working groups.
  • Provide Secretariat to the Conference of Commissioners of Police of Australasia and the South West Pacific Region.
  • Supply jurisdictions with a weekly environmental scan which identifies emerging topical issues in policing.
  • Compile an annual document on Issues in Policing to identify future and emerging issues likely to impact on policing.
  • Amalgamate ANZPAA-NIFS website and systems into the ANZPAA network.
  • Prepare Directions in Australia New Zealand Policing 2012-2014.
